Barangay Ginebra has bounced back from its recent slump by trouncing Blackwater with a resounding victory of 119-93 in the PBA Governors Cup at the PhilSports Arena last Sunday.

The Gin Kings showed no mercy towards the Bossing, who tried in vain to detract the defending champions from their mission.

The impressive trio of Christian Standhardinger, Justin Brownlee, and Jamie Malonzo led the charge for Ginebra, who established a comfortable lead early on in the game. The Kings dominated the opening period and kept increasing their lead to as much as 93-65, leaving no chance for the Bossing to make a comeback.

The win snapped Ginebra's two-game losing streak and improved their record to 4-2, placing them in fifth place in the standings. The team will now take a break before facing Meralco on March 1.

Coach Tim Cone expressed his relief over the victory, saying that his players executed his game plan well. The balanced scoring of the Kings proved too much for Blackwater, who suffered their sixth consecutive loss in the tournament.

Standhardinger led Ginebra with 27 points, followed by Malonzo with 25 and Brownlee with 22. The Bossing, on the other hand, had multiple players scoring in double figures but failed to keep up with the Kings' pace.

The win is a much-needed boost for Ginebra, who is looking to defend its title in the Governor's Cup.
