Atty. Leila M. de Lima marked her 6th year in what she described as “unjust detention” last February 24, 2023.
Despite spending six years in detention, she remains steadfast in her commitment to the Rule of Law, Human Rights, and speaking up for victims of the so-called "War on Drugs".
She refused to buckle under the pressure of oppression and is still fighting for justice for the victims of extrajudicial killings and their families.
Atty. de Lima strongly believes in her vindication and refuses to be silenced. She stands her ground, knowing that when they try to silence her, they are coming after those who cannot speak for themselves and defend themselves.
She intends to keep moving forward, soldiering on, quoting Martin Luther King, "If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl. But whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward."
