MANILA - A Low Pressure Area (LPA) located approximately 90 kilometers northeast of Infanta, Quezon or 85 kilometers southeast of Baler, Aurora is currently affecting parts of the Philippines. Coupled with the Southwest Monsoon, this weather disturbance is bringing heavy rains and posing a potential risk of flooding and landslides in various regions.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has released a weather bulletin detailing the forecast conditions across different areas of the country.

In the regions of Metro Manila, Ilocos, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, and MIMAROPA, monsoon rains are expected due to the influence of the LPA and Southwest Monsoon. Residents in these areas should remain vigilant as scattered to widespread rains could trigger possible flooding or landslides.
Meanwhile, the Bicol Region and Western Visayas will experience occasional rains caused by the Southwest Monsoon. Authorities are advising residents in these areas to exercise caution and be prepared for potential flooding or landslides brought about by the continuous downpour.

In Central and Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, BARMM, and SOCCSKSARGEN, cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms are anticipated. The Southwest Monsoon is likely to cause moderate to heavy rains, increasing the risk of flash floods or landslides in these regions.

For Caraga and Davao Region, partly cloudy to cloudy skies are expected, accompanied by isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Residents are advised to stay alert for possible flash floods or landslides, particularly during severe thunderstorms.

The forecast also includes wind and coastal water conditions. In Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, moderate southwest winds are prevailing, with coastal waters ranging from moderate to 1.2 to 2.5 meters. In the rest of Luzon, winds will be light to moderate, blowing from the northeast to northwest, and coastal waters will be slight to moderate, ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters.
