As part of its ongoing railway upgrade program, the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), the private operator of LRT-1, has announced a scheduled rail replacement at the Baclaran Station's reversing area from September 20 to September 24, 2023.
To ensure the safe and efficient execution of the engineering tasks, a portion of the Baclaran reversing tracks will be temporarily closed. Consequently, this will lead to operational constraints, affecting train movements, deployment, and the use of station platforms for passenger loading and unloading.

Commuters should also expect adjustments in the LRT-1 train timetable and headway, increasing from the current 4 minutes to approximately 5 minutes during this period.

LRMC Chief Operating Officer Rolando J. Paulino III expressed the company's commitment to providing a secure and dependable transportation system for its growing ridership. He stated, "As the LRT-1 system continues to cater to our growing ridership, LRMC commits to providing a safe and reliable transportation system. We would like to ask for the kind understanding of our commuters and apologize in advance for the temporary inconvenience as we conduct these rail renewal activities needed for an improved LRT-1 experience. We also continue with the deployment of our new 4th Generation trains to carry more passengers, with five train sets already in commercial service."

LRMC anticipates that normal LRT-1 operations will resume by the following Monday, September 25, 2023.

The LRMC encourages the riding public to plan their trips ahead of time and be prepared for temporary adjustments in LRT-1 operations during this period. The company says it s dedicated to ensuring the safety and efficiency of its transportation services, and these necessary upgrades are part of its ongoing commitment to passenger satisfaction.
