Suspended chairman of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), Teofilo Guadiz III, vehemently denied allegations of corruption made against him by his former executive assistant.
Guadiz, standing firm in his defense, stated, "Wala hong katotohanan lahat ng mga ibinunyag niyang iyon" (There is no truth to all the revelations made by her).
He expressed his willingness to cooperate with any investigation, in any forum, to refute the allegations against him.
He claims the controversy began after he transferred his former executive assistant to a different division within the LTFRB, citing a misunderstanding with other employees in his office as the reason for the reassignment.
He explained, "Nung nangyari iyon bigla na lang siyang nag-resign at after 15 days, may mga lumabas na supposedly mga splices na pictures na galing sa kaniya" (When that happened, she suddenly resigned, and after 15 days, some allegedly manipulated photos that came from her surfaced).
Moreover, Guadiz disclosed that he had a conversation with his former assistant the day after her resignation.
He revealed that she realized the error of her actions and expressed remorse, leading to her request for forgiveness. Subsequently, she executed an affidavit of recantation.
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. suspended Guadiz amid reports of alleged corruption within the LTFRB. Guadiz, however, maintains his innocence and that he would be open to resolving the matter through transparent processes.
