The Land Transportation Office (LTO) issued a Show Cause Order (SCO) against the registered owner of a white Honda CRV following a viral road rage incident that occurred in a subdivision in Imus, Cavite.

In response to the order of LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor Mendoza II, LTO Regional Director Cupido Gerry Asuncion signed the SCO on September 25,2023 directing the registered owner to provide a notarized affidavit explaining why she should not face penalties in connection with the incident.

The SCO stipulates a five-day deadline for the owner to submit her response under oath.

The incident in question, now widely circulating on social media, depicts a male driver of the Honda CRV allegedly engaging in reckless driving and confrontations with other motorists.

According to reports, the driver appeared to be under the influence of liquor, prompting concerns about public safety.

The video footage shows the Honda CRV swerving on a public road, apparently attempting to obstruct the vehicle behind it from passing.

Subsequently, the driver of the vehicle halted and engaged in a heated exchange with the occupants of another vehicle, during which expletives were used.

As part of the ongoing investigation initiated by Atty. Vigor Mendoza, it was discovered that the driver involved in the road rage incident is not the registered owner of the vehicle.

The LTO's efforts now include identifying the driver and verifying the status of their driver's license.

Mendoza emphasized the importance of determining whether the vehicle had been sold or loaned to the driver, stating, "We want to establish whether the vehicle has been sold or lent. Through this, we will ascertain the identity of the individual involved."
