The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has taken decisive action against taxi driver Arnel Acle, caught on video charging a staggering P10,000 fare to a foreign tourist at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

LTO has issued a 90-day preventive suspension on Acle's driver's license.

The Show Cause Order (SCO) issued to Acle outlines violations of three provisions of Joint Administrative Order 2014-01, including overcharging passengers, discourtesy, and violation of franchise terms.

LTO emphasizes the seriousness of the incident, stating that the entire fleet of the taxi company may be barred from operating at NAIA.

Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista is collaborating with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board to determine further sanctions against the taxi operator. The investigation, facilitated by CCTV footage, identified the taxi and driver involved.

Despite being located in Valenzuela City, Acle has not reported for work since December 19 and is believed to be in hiding.
