A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 struck Zambales province in the Philippines on July 6, triggering mild shaking and causing concern among residents. The tremor occurred at approximately 03:16 PM local time and was centered at a depth of 46 kilometers.
According to the official earthquake information released by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), the quake's epicenter was located at 15.42°N, 119.67°E, approximately 26 kilometers southwest of Palauig, Zambales.
Reported intensities indicate that Quezon City experienced shaking at Intensity III, while the towns of Botolan, Iba, Cabangan, and San Marcelino in Zambales also felt the tremor at the same intensity level.
