An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.3 struck the province of Batangas at 10:19 a.m. on Thursday, June 15.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located approximately 15 kilometers south, 64 degrees west of Calatagan, specifically at coordinates 13.77°N and 120.51°E, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
PHIVOLCS said the seismic event occurred at a depth of 119 kilometers and had a tectonic origin.
The earthquake was felt with varying intensities in several areas across Luzon.
The following are the reported intensities:
Intensity IV - The City of Manila, City of Mandaluyong, Quezon City, City of Valenzuela, City of Malolos in Bulacan, and various areas in Batangas including Batangas City, Ibaan, Lemery, Nasugbu, and Talisay. Additionally, the cities of Dasmariñas and Tagaytay in Cavite, as well as Tanay in Rizal, experienced this intensity.
Intensity III - Pateros, the City of Las Piñas, the City of Makati, the City of Marikina, the City of Parañaque, the City of Pasig, Obando in Bulacan, Laurel in Batangas, the City of Bacoor, and the City of Imus in Cavite, the City of San Pablo, and the City of San Pedro in Laguna, and San Mateo in Rizal reported this intensity.
Intensity II - The City of Caloocan, the City of San Juan, the City of Muntinlupa, the City of San Fernando in La Union, the City of Alaminos, and Bolinao in Pangasinan, as well as Santa Maria in Bulacan and Bamban in Tarlac felt this intensity.
Intensity I - The City of San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan reported this intensity.

Intensity IV - Abucay in Bataan, Lemery and Malolos City in Bulacan, Tagaytay City and Magallanes in Cavite, San Jose in Occidental Mindoro, Calapan City and Puerto Galera in Oriental Mindoro, and San Antonio, Olongapo City, and Cabangan in Zambales.
Intensity III - Dinalupihan, Mariveles, and Batangas City in Bataan, several towns in Batangas including Sta. Teresita, Cuenca, Bauan, Talisay, Laurel, and San Luis, as well as Paombong, Guiguinto, Marilao, and Pulilan in Bulacan. Additionally, Bacoor City, Carmona, Ternate, and Naic in Cavite, several areas in Metro Manila, Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija, Abra De Ilog in Occidental Mindoro, Roxas in Oriental Mindoro, Guagua in Pampanga, Mauban in Quezon, Tanay in Rizal, and San Marcelino and Subic in Zambales felt this intensity.
Intensity II - Baler in Aurora, Malvar and Rosario in Batangas, Angat, Obando, Norzagaray, and Santa Maria in Bulacan, Calamba and San Pablo in Laguna, San Juan City, Pasay, and Quezon City in Metro Manila, San Antonio in Nueva Ecija, Victoria in Oriental Mindoro, San Fernando in Pampanga, Bani and Infanta in Pangasinan, Tayabas, Infanta, Lopez, Dolores, and Alabat in Quezon, and Bamban in Tarlac experienced this intensity.
Intensity I - Paranaque City in Metro Manila, San Jose, Gabaldon, and Bongabon in Nueva Ecija, Magalang in Pampanga, Lingayen, Bolinao, and Urdaneta in Pangasinan, Mulanay, Lucena City, and Gumaca in Quezon, Taytay, Antipolo, and Angono in Rizal, and Santa Ignacia, Ramos, and Tarlac City in Tarlac felt this intensity.
PHIVOLCS said that aftershocks and damage are expected to occur following a seismic event of this magnitude.
