It was a night to remember for Antonio Hester and the Magnolia Hotshots as they cruised to a 108-95 win against the Phoenix Fuel Masters in the PBA Governors Cup at the MOA Arena.

Hester, who was making his debut for his new team, had a game-high 28 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists. He provided the Hotshots with the inside presence they lacked without star center Ian Sangalang.

Mark Barroca also had a great game, scoring 18 points, while Calvin Abueva contributed with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds, along with five assists. Paul Lee added 14 points and Jerrick Ahanmisi provided a spark in the second quarter, scoring all of his 12 points on four triples.

On the other side, Jason Perkins led Phoenix with 20 points, with Larry Muyang and Tyler Tio adding 15 and 13 points, respectively. Du'vaughn Maxwell, who was hobbled by foul trouble, only managed to score 11 points and 10 rebounds, while committing seven of the Fuel Masters' 19 turnovers.

Magnolia dominated the second quarter, using their torrid shooting and Phoenix's spotty offense to take a 58-34 lead and a 22-point bulge at halftime. The Hotshots never looked back and went on to secure their first win in the conference. It was a great team effort from Magnolia, led by the impressive performance of Antonio Hester.
