Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, on behalf of the Office of the President, expressed deep condolences to the grieving family of lawyer Maria Saniata Liwliwa Gonzales Alzate, who tragically lost her life on September 14, 2023.

Atty. Alzate was ruthlessly gunned down in front of her residence, sending shockwaves through the legal community and the province of Abra.

"The Office of the President strongly condemns this heinous act and vows to leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of justice for Atty. Alzate. Law enforcement agencies have already launched hot pursuit operations to apprehend those responsible for this senseless crime," it said

Secretary Bersamin called upon citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities to ensure that those behind this atrocious act are swiftly brought to justice.
