Manibela Announces Big Day Protest On January 16 From UP Diliman To Mendiola

Manibela, in collaboration with Piston and various sectors, has declared a significant protest on January 16, starting at 9 am from UP Diliman to Mendiola. This event follows their last protest in November 2023, where Piston organized a nationwide transport strike lasting three days, culminating in a gathering at Mendiola on November 22, 2023.
In a parallel move, the Malayang Alyansa ng Bus Employees at Laborers (MANIBELA) has decided to initiate a similar strike after the conclusion of Piston's three-day action. Both organizations strongly oppose the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP).
Manibela has emphasized that the event on January 16 is a "Transport Protest" and not a transport strike. They underline unity with Piston and various sectors, reinforcing their commitment to the cause. The protest is set to be a significant demonstration against the PUVMP.
