Today marks a significant milestone for TV5 and Nine Media Corporation as they officially unveil the much-anticipated free TV channel, RPTV, on Channel 9. The launch brings a diverse array of Kapatid shows to viewers across various platforms.
RPTV's programming lineup includes popular shows such as "Ted Failon at DJ Chacha," "Gud Morning Kapatid," "EAT Bulaga," "Wanted sa Radyo," and the live coverage of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) games.
Speculations about a collaboration between Nine Media Corporation and MediaQuest Holdings, TV5's parent company, have now materialized with the introduction of RPTV. This development follows the decision to discontinue CNN Philippines' broadcast due to financial challenges.
The inaugural broadcast kicked off with the Radyo5 radio program "Ted Failon at DJ ChaCha sa Radyo5" at 6 AM, setting the stage for a diverse and engaging content lineup.
Jane Basas, CEO of MediaQuest Holdings, expressed her optimism about RPTV's impact on Filipino viewers. In a statement, she said, "We are excited to embark on this journey and contribute positively to the lives of viewers. RPTV is here to create memorable moments for families by becoming a go-to destination for quality and diverse content."
RPTV Channel 9 is easily accessible through free TV Channel 9 on analog in Mega Manila, Cebu, and Davao, as well as free TV Channels 5, 12, and 8 in Zamboanga, Baguio, and Bacolod, respectively. Additionally, it can be accessed through DTT Channels 18.3 and 19.
The channel is also available on Cignal Channel 10, SatLite Channel 9, GSat Channel 8, and over 300 cable providers nationwide. Viewers can enjoy livestreaming on the Cignal Play app, providing convenient access to RPTV's content anytime, anywhere.
