Massive Earthquake In Morocco Leaves 2,862 Dead And 2,562 Injured

An earthquake struck several Moroccan provinces and prefectures on September 8, resulting in 2,862 fatalities and 2,562 injuries, according to the latest update released by the Ministry of the Interior at 7:00 PM.

The earthquake's impact was most devastating in Al Haouz province, reporting 1,604 fatalities, followed by 976 in Taroudant province. Tragically, Essaouira also recorded one death due to the tremor. Among the deceased, 2,854 have already been laid to rest.

Fortunately, no additional fatalities have been reported in the other affected provinces and prefectures, offering hope amid the ongoing crisis.

Public authorities continue their relentless efforts to rescue, evacuate, and provide medical care to the injured. Additionally, they are working tirelessly to clear damaged roads, ensuring that emergency services can reach affected areas. The government is mobilizing all necessary resources to manage the far-reaching consequences of this heart-wrenching tragedy.
