Mayor Joy Belmonte Welcomes Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan As Acting QCPD Chief

Quezon City, September 2, 2023 - In a strong show of support for the local government's partnership with the Philippine National Police (PNP), Mayor Joy Belmonte warmly welcomed the appointment of Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan as the Acting Director of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).
Mayor Belmonte expressed her optimism that General Maranan would continue and even improve upon the positive initiatives launched by General Nick Torre, such as the rapid 3-minute response to emergency calls through Helpline 122. She emphasized the importance of upholding human rights, justice, and equal treatment for all QCitizens, regardless of their gender, religion, or social status, values firmly upheld and championed by the local government.
General Maranan brings with him extensive experience gained during his service in the Philippine National Police, having received numerous accolades throughout his career. He has held various key positions, including Public Information Officer (PIO), intelligence officer at the Cavite Police Provincial Office, and provincial director in Pangasinan.
Mayor Belmonte expressed confidence that Director Maranan would bring dedication, expertise, and a strong commitment to community safety to the QCPD. She also highlighted the city's hope that General Maranan would oversee a fair and impartial investigation into the recent gun-toting incident, ensuring justice prevails.
