Meralco, the largest electric distribution company in the Philippines, is set to impose an additional charge of P0.23 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) for the month of November.

This move comes as a result of increased transmission and generation charges for electricity.
For typical residential consumers, this price hike will translate to an extra cost of P47 for those using 200 kWh and P70 for those consuming 300 kWh in a month.

Meralco explained that the surge in transmission and generation charges necessitated the adjustment in electricity rates for the month of November.

Consumers are encouraged to manage their power consumption effectively to minimize the impact on their monthly expenses.
