Artist and influencer Mikee Reyes candidly addressed an issue close to his heart: tattoo discrimination in the professional world. The post featured a screenshot of a conversation where Mikee was asked to wear long sleeves to cover his tattoos for a job opportunity. In response, he firmly expressed his discomfort with such a request, choosing instead to pass on the job.
With a sense of empowerment and self-assuredness, Mikee conveyed his perspective through a thoughtful caption: "I assume kilala niyo naman sino kinukuha niyo? ๐ ๐ You could've just told me na ang attire is formal or need na long sleeves, and I wouldn't look into it. ๐ Susunod naman ako. ๐"
Mikee went on to challenge the notion that his tattoos would make him unsuitable for certain roles, particularly those involving interactions with children: "My tattoos make me bad for kids? Pano kung may ma-impart pala sana akong maganda sakanila? ๐ฅฒ"
He gracefully acknowledged that the person who reached out to him about the dress code wasn't at fault: "I'm sure hindi kasalanan nung kausap ko. Sinabihan lang naman siya to ask me. ๐ Pero tuloy lang naman tayo, guys. โ๐ฝ God is too good, for us to worry about these things. ๐๐ฝ"
In a heartwarming declaration of his commitment to authenticity, Mikee shared: "I've already made more friends and achieved more things, being myself, than I could ever have trying to be someone else. โค๏ธ๐ Ika ng mga tito/tita, THANK YOU, NEXT. ๐"
