The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2023 is just around the corner, and it promises to be a captivating and diverse cinematic experience for all movie enthusiasts.

The festival committee has unveiled the final official entries for this year's lineup, featuring a wide array of genres, from heartwarming comedies to historical dramas. Here's a sneak peek at what's in store:

"WHEN I MET YOU IN TOKYO"
• Directed by Conrado Peru, Rommel Peneza, and Christopher De Leon
• Starring Vilma Santos and Christopher De Leon
"When I Met You in Tokyo" is a romance film that delves into the intricacies of unconditional love, sacrifices, age, and aging.

"BECKY AND BADETTE"
• Directed by Jun Robles Lana
• Starring Eugene Domingo and Pokwang
"Becky and Badette" is a heartwarming comedy that explores friendship, second chances, and the pursuit of dreams.

"MALLARI"
• Directed by Derick Cabrido
• Starring Janella Salvador and Piolo Pascual
"Mallari" is a partly fictional, partly true-to-life account inspired by the story of Fr. Juan Severino Mallari, the first recorded Filipino serial killer in the 1800s.

"FIREFLY"
• Directed by Zig Dulay
• Starring Alessandra de Rossi and Euwenn Mikaell
"Firefly" is a fairytale adventure that tells the story of 10-year-old Tonton and his terminally ill mother, Elay.

"BROKEN HEART'S TRIP"
• Directed by Lemuel C. Lorca
• Starring Christian Bables
"Broken Heart's Trip" is a comedy-drama that follows the lives of five LGBTQ individuals who join a reality competition sponsored by a corporate agency.

"GOMBURZA"
• Directed by Pepe Diokno
• Starring Enchong Dee, Cedrick Juan, and Dante Rivero
"GOMBURZA" is a historical epic that pays homage to the martyr priests - Mariano Gomez, Jose Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora - executed by Spain in 1872 under false accusations of sedition and treason.

The MMFF 2023 promises a diverse and exciting lineup. The parade of stars will be on on December 17 in CAMANAVA. The parade will kick off in Navotas and end in Valenzuela for a total of 8.7 kilometers.
