MTRCB Summons 'It's Showtime' For Alleged Indecent Acts During 'Isip Bata' Segment

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has issued a Notice to Appear and Testify to the Producers of the popular noontime variety show "It's Showtime" in response to complaints regarding scenes that allegedly portrayed indecent acts by hosts Vice Ganda and Ion Perez during the show's "Isip Bata" segment.

The controversial episode was aired on 25 July 2023 on channels GTV and A2Z DZOZ/DZOE 11.

The MTRCB stated that the segment in question is in violation of Section 3 (c) of Presidential Decree No. 1986. As a result, a hearing has been scheduled on 31 July 2023 at 10:00 am at the MTRCB Office located in Timog Avenue, Quezon City.

The board takes its responsibility to uphold content standards seriously and will thoroughly investigate the matter during the hearing. Producers and representatives of "It's Showtime" have been summoned to provide their testimonies and clarifications on the issue.

The public is assured that the MTRCB remains committed to its mandate of promoting responsible and quality entertainment on television and will take appropriate action based on the outcome of the investigation.
