Namibia And Philippines To Strengthen Bilateral Ties

The governments of Namibia and the Philippines have pledged to enhance collaboration in various key areas including trade, agriculture, technical cooperation, and the well-being of their citizens.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. welcomed Namibia's Non-Resident Ambassador to the Philippines, H.E. Herman Pule Diamonds, at the Malacañan Palace, expressing the Philippines' eagerness to assist Namibia in agricultural development.

President Marcos highlighted the Philippines' expertise in agriculture, citing the presence of the International Rice Research Institute in the country. He emphasized the potential for knowledge sharing and cooperation in agricultural research and development.

The President also commended the contributions of Filipino agronomists worldwide, underscoring their dedication and industriousness.

Ambassador Diamonds reciprocated the enthusiasm, expressing Namibia's interest in strengthening trade and investment ties with the Philippines. He acknowledged the technological advancements in the Philippines and expressed the need for technical cooperation to bridge the gap in certain sectors.

Diamonds praised the Filipino workforce, particularly overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), and expressed gratitude for the Philippines' commitment to the well-being of its citizens abroad.
