Nine overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) returned safely to the Philippines from Lebanon on the evening of November 8, 2023. The OFWs arrived at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City via Qatar Airways flight QR928.

The decision for their repatriation was prompted by the escalating tensions between Israel and the Lebanon-based militant group Hezbollah, known for its sympathetic ties to Hamas.

The safety and well-being of Filipino nationals in Lebanon became a growing concern amidst these regional hostilities.

Hans Leo J. Cacdac, Officer-in-Charge of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), was personally present at NAIA Terminal 3 to welcome the returning OFWs. He assured them of the full support and necessary assistance from the government as they readjust to life back in the Philippines.

This latest batch of returning OFWs adds to the total of 19 Filipino workers who have successfully come back to their home country from Lebanon.
