Ateneo de Manila University team captain Faith Nisperos has chosen to skip her remaining playing years in the UAAP and decided to go pro. She will be joining the Akari Chargers in the Premier Volleyball League.

Nisperos, who is 23 years old and had played for the Blue Eagles for three seasons, announced her decision on Tuesday.

Nisperos started her UAAP career with Ateneo in Season 82, but her rookie year was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In Season 84, she led the team to the second round of the stepladder playoffs after the departure of the veterans.

Nisperos steered Ateneo to the 2023 V-League Women's title and won the tournament MVP. However, the team finished sixth in the UAAP, missing out on the Final Four for the first time in 14 years.

After a long and hard-fought season with the Ateneo Lady Eagles, Nisperos has left the eagle’s nest and found her new home with the Akari Chargers in the Premier Volleyball League.

Nisperos revealed that she chose Akari for several reasons, including her good working relationship with coach Jorge De Brito.

Despite the ups and downs of her collegiate career, Nisperos remains determined to succeed and continue playing the sport she loves.

Nisperos' Facebook post about leaving a legacy of faith and fight has garnered positive reactions from her fans, with Akari Power Chargers also showing their support for the new addition to their team.

She wrote, "I may not leave a legacy of trophies and championship banners in this chapter of my life, but I hope I left an impact that may serve as inspiration.

Inspiration for fighting through adversities — acknowledging that not all things go our way but we fight through anyway.

My legacy is having FAITH & FIGHT in me. No result could ever tame down the pride of knowing you gave your all every chance you got.

As I conquer another chapter in my life, thank you, Ateneo, for our One Big Fight."
