NSC Greenlights Christmas Convoy To WPS

The National Security Council (NSC) has granted approval for a civilian-led Christmas convoy to the West Philippine Sea (WPS).

The decision comes after a constructive dialogue between the NSC and leaders of the ATIN ITO! Coalition.

According to a statement by Jonathan E. Malaya, Assistant Director General Spokesperson for the NSC, both parties reached a consensus that the convoy would not proceed to BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal due to safety concerns.

Instead, the convoy will navigate the general vicinity of Ayungin Shoal, ensuring the safety of the civilian participants.

The Christmas convoy aims to spread festive cheer to Philippine-occupied features in the WPS, directly benefiting troops and fisherfolk.

The convoy's route will extend to Pagasa Island, where donated supplies for BRP Sierra Madre will be handed over to the Philippine Navy-AFP and the Philippine Coast Guard during regular rotation and resupply missions.
