P1.9 M Worth Of Shabu Seized By QCPD

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) achieved a significant victory in their fight against illegal drugs on July 9, 2023. Under the leadership of PBGEN Nicolas D Torre III, the QCPD successfully apprehended four drug peddlers and seized approximately ₱1,972,000.00 worth of shabu in separate buy-bust operations conducted by the Anonas Police Station (PS 9) and Novaliches Police Station (PS 4) in Quezon City.

In the first operation, conducted by PS 9, PLTCOL Morgan Aguilar, the Station Commander, led the arrest of a 52 year old male, a 50 years old female, and a 16-year-old female suspect. The individuals, all residents of Brgy. Santa Ana, Taytay, Rizal, were apprehended at 6:10 PM in front of Saint Bridget School along Aurora Blvd., Brgy. Loyola Heights, Quezon City.

According to the report, the PS 9 operatives initiated the buy-bust operation based on information provided by a concerned citizen regarding the suspects' drug peddling activities.

A police officer acted as a poseur buyer and successfully purchased ₱50,000.00 worth of shabu from the suspects. At the pre-arranged signal, the authorities apprehended the individuals. The operation resulted in the confiscation of 250 grams of shabu with an estimated value of ₱1,700,000.00, along with a yellow sling bag, a cellular phone, an Isuzu DMAX and the marked buy-bust money.

In the second operation, led by PLTCOL Jerry Castillo, the Station Commander of PS 4, authorities arrested a male resident of Brgy. Saloysoy, Meycauayan, Bulacan. The arrest took place at 5:30 AM along Gen. Luis St., corner Mendoza Compound, Brgy. Nagkaisang Nayon, Novaliches, Quezon City.

Following a tip from a concerned citizen about the suspect’s involvement in illegal drug activities, PS 4 operatives conducted a buy-bust operation leading to his apprehension.

During the operation, authorities seized 40 grams of shabu with an estimated value of ₱272,000.00, a black coin purse, a cellular phone, one unit of caliber 9mm Taurus pistol, one magazine for the Taurus pistol, and five 9mm full metal ammunition.

The arrested suspects will face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. In addition, they will be charged with violating Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, before the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office.
