P25.4 Million Worth of Illegal Drugs Seized inside Balikbayan Boxes in Pasay

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) and its partner agencies, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG), intercepted illegal drugs with an estimated street value of P25,445,300 million at several warehouses in Pasay City. The drugs were concealed in parcels and balikbayan boxes, declared as personal effects from France, California, and the USA.
The illegal shipment included 50 grams of Shabu, 4,897 tablets of Ecstasy, 12,000 grams of Kush, and pieces of CBD Gummies and oils. All of the substances were identified as dangerous drugs in accordance with the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2022.
The Port of NAIA, led by District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan, and the BOC-NAIA, under the new leadership of Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio remains committed to protecting the country from the entry of illegal goods. They will intensify their vigilance and dedication to prevent smuggling attempts in the borders, following the directives of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.
