PMGEN. Edgar Alan O. Okubo, Regional Director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), commended the successful confiscation of approximately PHP 48.96 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation conducted last June 20, 2023, in Parañaque City.

According to the report received from PBGEN. Kirby John Brion Kraft, District Director of the Southern Police District, the operation was launched by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office-National Capital Region (PDEA RO-NCR) Northern District Office and PDEA RO-NCR Southern District Office, in collaboration with the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit of the NCRPO and personnel from the Southern Police District. This joint effort led to the successful apprehension of three individuals, all residents of Parañaque City.

The report further stated that aside from the confiscated 7.2 kilograms of suspected shabu, with a Standard Drug Price value of PHP 48.96 million, the following pieces of evidence were also seized from the suspects:
• Drug paraphernalia such as weighing scales, plastic sachets, lighters, and others
• Six cellphones.
• One piece of paper currency amounting to PHP 500 used as buy-bust money.
• Record notebooks, bank slips, ATM bank cards, and other financial documents.

The seized pieces of evidence, along with the suspects, are now under the custody of the PDEA. They will face charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, also known as RA 9165.

"Rest assured that the NCRPO, together with other government agencies, will be more aggressive in conducting operations not only against illegal drugs but also against all forms of crime throughout Metro Manila," stated PMGEN. Okubo.
