P5.5 Million Worth Of Illegal Drugs Seized In Bacolod Drug Operations

BACOLOD CITY - A 26-year-old drug pusher was apprehended in a successful anti-illegal drugs operation in Bacolod City. The operation resulted in the confiscation of a staggering amount of illegal drugs, weighing approximately 800 grams with an estimated value of Php5,440,000.00.
According to reports, the Bacolod City Police Office's Station Drug Enforcement Team (PS8 SDET) executed a meticulously planned buy-bust operation in the early hours of June 18, 2023. The operation took place in Purok Villa Lourdes, Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod City, culminating in the arrest of RENE LAPERA JR, also known as "OMBAP." Mr. Lapera, a resident of Villa Lourdes, Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod City, is married and currently unemployed.
Law enforcement officials recovered a substantial amount of evidence at the scene. The confiscated items include one (1) large heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu (the buy-bust item), ten (10) large heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu (possession), seven (7) knot-tied transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu (possession), one (1) digital weighing scale, one (1) blue sling bag, and three (3) genuine one thousand peso bills (the buy-bust money).
In response to the successful operation, PNP Chief Police General Benjamin C Acorda expressed his gratitude to the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) personnel and all the officers involved. He commended their unwavering commitment and dedication to duty.
He also acknowledged PBGEN SIDNEY N VILLAFLOR, ARD, PRO6, for his commitment to implementing aggressive and honest law enforcement measures. General Acorda took the opportunity to thank the community for their continued support and cooperation.
General Acorda also called on the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or information related to illegal drug operations. He assured the public that the fight against illegal drugs remains a top priority and that operations would be intensified to dismantle drug syndicates. He delivered a clear message to those involved in illegal drug activities, emphasizing that their actions would not be tolerated, and law enforcement agencies would relentlessly pursue them.
As of now, a tactical interrogation of the suspect is underway to gather additional information about the source of the illegal drugs, as well as any potential links and accomplices. This critical intelligence will aid in planning further follow-up operations to dismantle the drug syndicate responsible for jeopardizing the safety and well-being of the community.
