Pacquiao Tops SWS Senatorial Survey For April 2023
The Social Weather Stations (SWS) has released its latest survey results on voter preferences for senators and the best leader to succeed President Marcos, Jr. The survey, conducted from April 15 to 18, 2023, provides insights into the preferences of the Filipino electorate.
The survey was commissioned by former LPGMA Partylist Congressman Arnel Ty, who is also the Treasurer of Partido Reporma.
The table released by SWS provides an overview of the top-ranked candidates for the senatorial race, based on unaided voter preferences. According to the survey, Manny Pacquiao secured the top spot with 7% of the votes, followed closely by Bong Revilla with 6%. Tito Sotto ranked third with 5% of the votes. Other notable candidates included Bong Go, Manny Villar, Lito Lapid, Bato Dela Rosa, and Imee Marcos, among others.
The survey also gauged the sentiments of voters regarding the best leader to succeed President Marcos, Jr. as president. Sara Duterte emerged as the frontrunner with 28% of respondents favoring her to assume the presidency. Raffy Tulfo garnered 11% of the votes, followed by Leni Robredo with 6%. Rodrigo Duterte and Manny Pacquiao received 3% and 2% of the votes, respectively.
The survey also delved into regional preferences, revealing that Sara Duterte enjoyed the most support in the National Capital Region (NCR) and urban areas, with 25% and 29% of respondents favoring her, respectively. In the rural areas, she obtained 25% support. Raffy Tulfo received substantial support across various locales, with 14% in NCR, 12% in urban areas, and 11% in rural areas.
The survey captured the opinions of 26,718 eligible voters, providing valuable insights into the political landscape ahead of the upcoming elections. It is important to note that the survey only reflects the preferences of the respondents at the time of the survey and does not guarantee electoral outcomes.
