The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) penalized three more players on Wednesday for participating in unsanctioned games.
NorthPort Kent Salado and Blackwater's Renato Ular and Rey Suerte were each fined P50,000 by PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial. These players had taken part in an invitational tournament in Davao City without seeking permission from their mother teams or the PBA.
After meeting the trio at the PBA office in Libis, Quezon City, the commissioner handed the penalties.
The fines were imposed a week after Marcial had penalized 10 other players for participating in unsanctioned tournaments.
Magnolia's Jio Jalalon, Rain or Shine's Beau Belga, and NLEX's JR Quinahan were among those who faced hefty fines from the league commissioner.
Belga, Jalalon, and Quinahan had also been sanctioned by their respective teams.
Marcial had previously warned players of more severe penalties should they repeat the offense.
