In an Instagram post, Direk Lauren, the director of Pinoy Big Brother (PBB), shared the news that they will be demolishing one half of the PBB House. This portion of the house, known as House B, was built in 2006 and has been used as offices, a brainstorming space, a pantry, hosts' dressing rooms, a mini studio with control room, and living quarters during the show's "lock-in seasons."
According to Direk Lauren, the decision to give up House B was made because their lease has expired this year, and it is impractical to renew it. However, he reassured fans that they still have the main PBB house and control room, which they hope to use for the next edition of the show.
The PBB House has become an iconic landmark in the area since it was built in 2004. Direk Lauren expressed his gratitude to everyone who has been a part of the rich history of PBB and Pinoy pop culture, including staff, crew, hosts, ex-housemates, and supporters. He also gave a special thanks to Ms. Linggit Tan for starting it all.
Bianca Gonzales, a former PBB host, also shared her memories of House B in her own Instagram post. She recounted the highs and lows of the show and the many unforgettable memories created in that part of the house.
Despite the bittersweet news, Direk Lauren and the PBB team remain hopeful for the future. As he said, "It's an end of an era but hopefully we move on and find a better home in the future!"
