President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the embassies of Israel, Jordan, and Egypt on Wednesday for ensuring the safe passage of 40 more Filipinos from the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing in Egypt.

Through a video message, President Marcos announced that these Filipinos are now en route to Cairo, from where they will soon return home to the Philippines.

President Marcos credited the success of this operation to the seamless coordination between the DFA and the embassies in Israel, Jordan, and Egypt.

He also expressed his gratitude to the governments of Israel and Egypt for prioritizing the safe exit of Filipino citizens from their territories.

Additionally, he acknowledged the mediation efforts of Qatar, which played a pivotal role in reopening the borders of these nations.

The President expressed optimism that the remaining Filipinos awaiting clearance at the Rafah border will soon be able to reunite with their families. He assured the nation that his office will provide regular updates regarding the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict and the repatriation efforts.

Maraming salamat," the President concluded.
