PBBM Appoints Rafael D. Consing Jr. As Head Of Maharlika

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed Mr. Rafael D. Consing Jr. as the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Maharlika Investment Corporation (MIC).

Consing, currently serving as the Executive Director of the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Investment & Economic Affairs (OPAIEA), has held key positions in both the public and private sectors.

He was Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of International Container Terminal Services, Inc., Managing Director roles at HSBC Hong Kong and HSBC Singapore, and Vice President and Treasurer for Aboitiz & Co., Inc. and Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc.

His extensive background in corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, global capital markets, and stakeholder relations positions him as a valuable asset for MIC.

As President and CEO, Consing is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing MIC's investment strategies, aligning with the government's broader objective of sustainable development.

His key responsibilities include establishing a diversified portfolio of investments, managing and investing contributions to the Fund in accordance with Republic Act No. 11954, and accepting investment mandates aimed at increasing income for development goals.

MIC, created under Republic Act No. 11954, serves as the primary vehicle for mobilizing and utilizing the Maharlika Investment Fund (MIF).

Consing’s appointment will run for a term of three years.
