PBBM Visits Wake of Assassinated Governor

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. paid his respects to the late Governor Roel Degamo of Negros Oriental by visiting his wake and offering his condolences to the grieving family on Wednesday.

During his visit, President Marcos expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic incident that claimed the life of Governor Degamo and wounded several others. He also committed to providing educational scholarships to the children of those killed in the attack and covering the medical expenses of those who were injured.

In a media interview following the visit, President Marcos assured the public that the government will continue to work tirelessly until the perpetrators responsible for the governor's death are brought to justice. He said that his administration will leave no stone unturned in its quest to identify and arrest those behind the attack.

The late Governor Roel Degamo was shot dead by masked gunmen last Saturday while handing out aid at their house in Pamplona, Negros Oriental. The incident also left 8 other people dead and others injured.
