In a bold move against the rampant illegal drug trade, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has successfully destroyed over P4 Billion worth of dangerous drugs and controlled precursors and essential chemicals (CPECs).
The destruction took place at the Integrated Waste Management, Inc. in Trece Martires City, with the estimated worth of dangerous drugs being P4,154,802,996.83 Billion Pesos.
The drugs and chemicals destroyed were evidence seized from various anti-drug operations conducted by the PDEA with other law enforcement and military agencies. The destroyed drugs included methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as shabu, and marijuana.
PDEA is responsible for overseeing the destruction of all dangerous drugs in accordance with the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation No. 1, Series of 2002.
