The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) vehemently denied any involvement of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in illegal drug activities, contradicting former President Rodrigo Duterte's accusations.

PDEA clarified that President Marcos Jr. has never been on its watchlist for individuals connected to illegal drug use, as claimed by Duterte. The agency emphasized that the National Drug Information System (NDIS), its intelligence database established on July 30, 2002, has never included the current president's name since its inception.

Contrary to Duterte's assertions that evidence linking Marcos to drug-related activities was shown to him during his tenure as mayor of Davao, PDEA insisted that no such evidence exists in their records. The agency also pointed out that President Marcos was not listed in the Inter-Agency Drug Information Database (IDI), previously known as the "narco-list" or Duterte list, initiated in 2016.

"When the former President took over in 2016, his administration came out with a list, which was then initially called the ‘narco-list, sometimes referred to as the Duterte list, and upon continuing validation and revalidation, it became the Inter-Agency Drug Information Database, or IDI," PDEA said.
