The Integrated Cycling Federation of the Philippines, Inc. (PhilCycling), issued a statement regarding the provisional suspension of one of their outstanding athletes, Ariana Evangelista, due to Adverse Analytical Findings (AAFs).
Ariana Evangelista, a prominent figure in the world of mountain biking (MTB), has been temporarily sidelined as a result of these findings, pending further investigation.
PhilCycling, recognizing the importance of fair play and adherence to anti-doping regulations, has pledged unwavering support to their athlete during this “challenging period.” However, they stress that this support will be provided within the strict confines of the rules and regulations set forth by various governing bodies, including the WADA Independent Observers, WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency), NADO-Philippines, Olympic Council of Asia, and Union Cycliste Internationale.
The federation says it condemns the use of illegal substances and doping in the sport, emphasizing the significance of maintaining the integrity of cycling.
While this incident is under thorough review by relevant authorities, PhilCycling calls upon the general public to exercise restraint and avoid forming premature judgments.
They say that It is imperative to await the final results of the investigation before drawing any conclusions.
