Philippine Army Welcomes New Commanding General LtGen Roy M. Galido

President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, has appointed LtGen Roy M Galido PA as the 66th Commanding General of the Philippine Army. The announcement was made through a press release by the Department of National Defense.

A distinguished member of the Philippine Military Academy’s “Bigkis Lahi” Class of 1990, LtGen Galido brings with him a sterling military career marked by exceptional leadership and strategic acumen. His previous roles as Commander of the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division and Western Mindanao Command have contributed to significant victories against lawless elements, particularly in the region of Mindanao.

Throughout his career, LtGen Galido has demonstrated well-honed skills and extensive experience, making him a natural fit for leading the Philippine Army. As the new Commanding General, he is expected to guide the Armed Forces of the Philippines towards achieving greater stability amid the evolving security landscape in the country.

President Marcos expressed confidence in LtGen Galido's ability to continue pursuing the strategic path set by the Commander-in-Chief, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding the nation's security and maintaining peace in the midst of challenges.
