International Testing Agency (ITA), acting on behalf of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), has reported Adverse Analytical Findings¹ for a blood and urine sample collected from Filipino cycling athlete Ariana Thea Patrice Dormitorio (Evangelista).
The findings indicate the presence of the prohibited substance erythropoietin (EPO), as per the World Anti-Doping Agency's (WADA) Prohibited List.
These samples were gathered during an out-of-competition anti-doping control conducted on September 24, 2023, by the ITA at the Asian Games Hangzhou 2022. The China Anti-Doping Agency served as the Sample Collection Authority.
As a result of this revelation, Ariana Thea Patrice Dormitorio has been promptly notified of the case and provisionally suspended from competition with immediate effect. She retains the right to request the analysis of the B-sample to confirm or refute the initial findings.
The matter will then be referred to the Anti-Doping Division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS ADD) for adjudication, in accordance with the OCA Anti-Doping Rules.
