Manila, Philippines - The Philippines has set its sights on hosting the prestigious 2025 FIVB Women's World Championship.

Following the successful staging of the last two editions of the FIVB Volleyball Nations League, the Philippine National Volleyball Federation has officially announced its bid to secure the grandest stage in the sport.

Ramon 'Tats' Suzara, the president of the Philippine National Volleyball Federation, passionately declared, "I would like to officially announce that we are bidding for the 2025 Women's World Championships." Suzara will personally present the federation's bid during the formal submission in Poland next week, where the bidding countries, including Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and Indonesia, will compete for the opportunity to host the tournament.

The bid comes after the Philippines impressed the FIVB and Volleyball World with its exceptional ability to organize and captivate audiences during the Volleyball Nations League. The nation's passionate volleyball fans, renowned for their boundless enthusiasm, have been a driving force behind the success of previous tournaments held in the country.

If the Philippines is successful in securing the hosting rights, the 2025 Women's World Championship will be a grand affair, featuring 32 teams competing for the ultimate title. This expansion represents a significant increase from the previous editions, where 24 teams participated. The enlarged tournament promises heightened excitement, showcasing the sport's global growth and competitiveness.

For the Philippines, winning the bid to host the Women's World Championship would mark a momentous occasion. The nation last participated in this prestigious event in 1974 in Mexico, where the team finished in 18th place. Securing the hosting rights would provide the Philippines with an opportunity to showcase its evolution and rekindle its prowess on the international stage.
