Police General Benjamin Acorda Jr., the Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), has officially filed a complaint against retired Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) General Johnny Macanas.
The complaint alleges that Macanas disseminated false information on social media regarding a purported destabilization plot against President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., implicating Acorda in the process.
Acorda has brought the case to the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office, accusing Macanas of violating the Anti-Cybercrime Law. The complaint asserts that the retired general engaged in spreading misleading content online, potentially compromising the reputation and integrity of the PNP Chief.
The nature of the accusations involves the apparent fabrication of a destabilization plot, with Macanas allegedly linking Acorda to the scheme through social media posts.
