The second State of the Nation Address (SONA) delivered by President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr. was a generally peaceful and orderly event, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The PNP Command Center at the National Headquarters monitored all public engagements and activities nationwide related to the SONA.

The PNP said that no serious untoward incidents were reported in the vicinity of the Batasan Pambansa Complex in Quezon City, as well as in other locations in Metro Manila and key cities across the country where mass actions and public assemblies took place, including a 72-hour stoppage of franchised transportation service by some protesting members of a transport group.

The PNP noted that appropriate numbers of police personnel were deployed to provide security and police assistance in all areas of engagement.

Despite some uncalled-for actions by rallyists, such as the burning of effigies and illegal assemblies that obstructed traffic, the PNP said they adhered to the maximum tolerance policy.

During these engagements, no arrests were made, but the PNP stated that violators of the law would be prosecuted to the fullest extent.

Chief PNP, PGen Benjamin A Acorda Jr, expressed his appreciation and congratulated all PNP personnel who were deployed during the event.

In his statement, PGen Acorda said, "Let this success serve as a reminder of the vital role we play in maintaining peace and order in our beloved country."

"I extend my greetings and thanks to all our police personnel across the nation, as well as the various government agencies such as the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Joint Task Force-National Capital Region, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, OCD/Red Cross, Department of Health, Philippine Coast Guard, Presidential Security Group, Metro Manila Development Authority, Department of Public Works And Highways, different Local Government Units, Force Multipliers, and other private sectors that collaborated to ensure the security of President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr.'s second SONA," he said.
