President Marcos Appoints Industry Veteran As Secretary Of Agriculture

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr., a seasoned professional with 30 years of experience in the industry, as the new Secretary of the Department of Agriculture.
The announcement was made earlier today.
In his statement, President Marcos emphasized the importance of having someone who comprehensively understands the challenges faced by the agricultural sector. "Now we are confident, Sec. Kiko and I have a good understanding of what needs to be done," said the President.
He further explained that his decision to retain the position of Secretary of Agriculture was validated, emphasizing that certain tasks could only be achieved through presidential authority.
The newly appointed Secretary, Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr., expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him by President Marcos.
"Buong puso ko pong tinatanggap ang hamon ng ating mahal na Pangulo na maglingkod bilang kalihim ng Kagawaran ng Agrikultura," he stated.
Laurel Jr. pledged to continue the President's initiatives and programs in the agricultural sector, aiming to ensure a bountiful harvest reaches every Filipino household.
"Ang ating pangunahing adhikain ay ang pagtiyak na sagana ang ating ani, at siguraduhing ito ay nakakrating sa hapag ng bawat Pilipino," he affirmed.
He stressed the importance of providing abundant and nutritious food at affordable prices, highlighting the modernization of the agricultural sector while improving the welfare of Filipino farmers and fishermen.
Laurel Jr. assured that their hard work would translate into tangible benefits, promising a receptive office for everyone.
