President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has issued Proclamation Nos. 429 and 430, acknowledging the exemplary service of former Philippine National Police (PNP) officers.
The proclamation involves the naming and renaming of eight PNP camps and properties, symbolizing recognition for the dedication displayed by these individuals during their service.
Proclamation No. 429, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas P. Bersamin on December 20, highlights the importance of honoring former police officers who demonstrated patriotism, courage, and dedication in serving their assigned provinces and municipalities. President Marcos emphasized the need to distinguish and pay tribute to those who have truly stood out in their commitment to the nation.
Among the named properties, the donated lot in Pasacao, Camarines Sur, is now recognized as Camp Brigadier General Ludovico Padilla Arejola. Additionally, Camp Captain Salvador Jaucian del Rosaro, Sr. is bestowed upon the donated lot to the PRO-5, and the Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office is renamed as Camp Colonel Juan Querubin Miranda. Notably, the 50th Maneuver Company Regional Mobile Force Battalion 5 is now recognized as Camp Police Max Jim Ramirez Tria, while Camp Efigenio C Navarro, PRO MIMROPA Headquarters, assumes the name Camp Brigadier General Efigenio C Navarro.
In a separate issuance, Proclamation No. 430 brings forth further changes, renaming the Police Regional Officer 12 of General Santos City as Camp General Paulino T. Santos, and the Biliran Police Provincial Office as Camp Private Andres P. Dadizon, Police Regional Office 8.
President Marcos justified these actions by citing Section 2 of Republic Act No. 10086, known as the Strengthening People’s Nationalism through Philippine History Act.
This legislation aims to bolster people’s nationalism, instill love for the country, foster respect for its heroes, and ignite pride in the nation’s achievements.
