In a startling video uploaded on SMNI’s Facebook and Youtube page, religious leader Apollo Quiboloy addressed the mounting allegations against him, admitting to hiding as he claimed his life is in danger. Quiboloy, the founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ, the Name Above Every Name, refuted accusations of marriage and shed light on what he termed the "Potiphar's wife Syndrome."
"I did not marry, now many women accuse me. This is my fault; the Lord God made me rich. They thought that I am single, and they fight to get me. When I say no, they will be humiliated, and they will avenge against me. This is what I call Potiphar's wife Syndrome," Quiboloy revealed in the video, expressing reluctance to share such details to avoid further humiliation of those involved.
The religious leader claimed that the accusers, driven by the desire for wealth, were spreading false narratives after being rejected. "It is difficult to say, but they are fighting because of me. They are humiliated, and now they are bought and twisting the stories," he added.
Quiboloy went on to share alarming concerns about his safety, stating, "I can be kidnapped anytime if my lair will be found out. My hideout can be discovered, and they can kill me anytime." He asserted that his followers, including the BOA (Body of Administrators) leader, do not sleep in the compound due to the perceived threat, with members staying in various locations to avoid detection.
In response to these developments, the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality recently issued a subpoena summoning Quiboloy to testify. The move comes amid growing allegations of abuses within Quiboloy's religious group.
The preacher did not reveal his face in the video, adding an air of mystery to the unfolding situation. As the Senate prepares to delve into the allegations, questions surrounding Quiboloy's practices and the safety of his followers continue to mount.
