Surigao del Sur 2nd District Representative Johnny Pimentel has taken a decisive step to ensure the presence of Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder and leader, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, in response to the House of Representatives' subpoena.
The move came during the hearing of the House committee on legislative franchises, specifically focusing on bills and resolutions related to Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI).
Pimentel emphasized the importance of Quiboloy's attendance in the upcoming hearings and proposed the issuance of a subpoena to compel his presence. The Surigao del Sur lawmaker stated, "I would like to move that we issue this committee rather issue a subpoena to compel him to be present during the next hearing. And we remind Tony Mark Tulentino that after the subpoena, if Pastor Quiboloy does not appear, then we'll be constrained to request for a guarantee for his appearance or move for a contempt order."
Pimentel's motion was approved, marking a significant development in the ongoing investigation.
Should Pastor Quiboloy fail to comply with the subpoena, the panel has signaled its readiness to escalate the situation, potentially leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant. The move underscores the committee's commitment to a thorough inquiry into matters related to SMNI and its connection to legislative franchises.
