Red-Plated Govt Vehicles Not Allowed On EDSA Busway

Starting Monday, November 20, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will be ramping up efforts to apprehend unauthorized vehicles traversing the EDSA busway.
During a press conference in Pasig City today, MMDA Acting Chairman, Atty. Don Artes, announced that clearly marked government vehicles and red-plated government vehicles are now prohibited from using the busway.
Artes explained that the Department of Transportation's directive explicitly allows only buses and emergency vehicles, such as ambulances, to use the busway.
This includes convoys of the President, Vice President, Senate President, House Speaker, and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
Artes emphasized that any vehicle not specified in the resolution attempting to pass through the busway will be apprehended and fined in accordance with the prescribed penalties.
