Rep. Stella And Miro Quimbo Transform Marikina Polytechnic College Into A SMART Campus

On Friday September 29, 2023, Teacher Stella and Congressman Miro Quimbo spearheaded the blessing and inauguration of the newly constructed Gusaling Pang-Akademiko (Academic Building) at the Marikina Polytechnic College (MPC).
The building is a part of the Quimbos' mission to revolutionize MPC into a SMART Campus.
The couple, renowned for their dedication to education, have initiated several transformative projects within MPC. Not limited to the construction of new buildings, they have focused on the holistic development of the MPC SMART Campus Project. This includes the establishment of cutting-edge laboratories for content creation, 3D modeling, and CAD Engineering.
Additionally, they have set up e-libraries and distributed laptops and desktop computers to MPC faculty members, ensuring that the institution stays at the forefront of technological advancement.
In her keynote speech, Teacher Stella emphasized the paramount importance of education. She stated, "Education has always been one of my top priorities as a public servant. My husband Miro and I are proof that education enables us to attract more opportunities for us to succeed in life and fulfill our dreams. I want every Marikina youth to also have that opportunity."
"Hangad natin na maging number one sa edukasyon ang Marikina. Unti-unti nating inaabot 'yan sa pamamagitan ng pagpapatayo ng mga school buildings, pag-agapay sa ating mga guro, pagbibigay ng scholarships at financial assistance sa mga nangangailangan, at iba pa. Wala tayong ibang hangad kundi ang tuloy-tuloy na modernisasyon at progreso ng ating mahal ng lungsod," he economist-lawmaker added.
The event was also attended by Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairperson Prospero De Vera, CHED Officials, MPC President Dr. Rene M. Colocar, members of the MPC Board of Trustees, and other MPC officials. The MPC community also witnessed the inauguration.
In his concluding remarks, Congressman Quimbo assured the Marikina youth, saying, "Kasangga niyo ako, kami, sa pagtupad ng inyong mga pangarap. Ang inyong tiwala at suporta ang nagbibigay-lakas sa amin para pagbutihin pa ang paglilingkod at tuloy-tuloy na makapagbigay ng serbisyong mabilis at may puso – dahil ang serbisyo ay dapat walang pinipili."
