Robbery Suspect in Death of New Zealand National Surrenders

Police authorities have apprehended a robbery suspect who was identified as John Mar Manalo, also known as John Mhar Nagum, on Friday, February 24, 2023. The arrest was made by personnel of SPD Special Operations Unit (DSOU) in cooperation with other police units at around 1:11 AM along Hill Crest Drive near Jardin De Rosal Hotel in Brgy. Oranbo, Pasig City.
The apprehension of Nagum was based on a Warrant of Arrest for Robbery with Violence against or Intimidation of Persons (RPC ART 294) Par. 5 of the RPC, issued by Hon. Elenita N.E. Macatangay-Alviar of Regional Trial Court Branch 12, Malolos City Bulacan. The warrant was issued on September 5, 2022, and has been in effect since then.
Aside from the robbery case, Nagum is also a suspect in the killing of the New Zealand National, Nicholas Peter Stacey, which happened on February 19, 2023, at Filmore St., Brgy. Palanan, Makati City. Police authorities have yet to release further information about his alleged involvement in the said crime.
