Mayor Francis Zamora has declared a week-long citywide mourning period in San Juan City from June 19 to 25, following the passing of Vice Mayor Jose Warren P. Villa.

The announcement was made through Executive Order No. 151, series of 2023, as a gesture of respect and remembrance for the late Vice Mayor.

"All Philippine flags within the territorial jurisdiction of San Juan shall be flown at half-mast and all official city events and celebrations shall be suspended during the duration of the mourning period, as a mark of reverence and remembrance for Vice Mayor Villa," Zamora wrote in a social media post on Monday, June 19.

Zamora first confirmed Villa's death on Sunday, June 18. He said the Vice Mayor passed away in the presence of his wife, Inah, and son, Hab.

He expressed deep sadness and described Villa as his friend, highly respected and beloved member of the San Juan City Government.

Zamora called upon the community to offer their support to Villa's family during this challenging time and requested their thoughts and prayers.

He also expressed gratitude for Villa's dedication and service to the people of San Juan.

"Maraming salamat sa iyong kabutihan at paglilingkod sa ating mga mamamayan. Mahal ka namin, Warren," he said.
