17 Filipino nationals arrived at the NAIA Terminal 1 on Wednesday (May 3) from Sudan via Jeddah on flight SV870. They are the second batch of OFs to arrive from Sudan on the same day and the sixth batch of Filipinos who have successfully returned home from Sudan.

Officials from various government agencies, including DMW Asec. Venecio Legaspi, OWWA Deputy Administrator Mary Melanie Quino, and DFA, DMW, and OWWA Airport Team members, were present to greet and assist the returning OFs upon their arrival.
Aside from providing them with an emergency kit, the government officials also offered food and transportation assistance, hotel accommodations, and financial assistance from DMW-OWWA if needed.

This is a part of the government's continuous effort to assist Filipinos abroad who were severely affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the challenges, the Philippine government remains committed to ensuring the safe return of OFs and their successful reintegration into the society.

The returning OFs expressed their gratitude to the Philippine government for their assistance, and they are excited to reunite with their loved ones after a long time away from home.
With the continued efforts of the government and cooperation from Filipinos worldwide, more OFWs are expected to return home in the coming months.
